excited that he called me to tell me. He told me about 2 years ago he felt bad because he was just sitting back while other
guys in the Military were in Iraq and he was trained to help but he felt like his training was being wasted by being here in the
USA. I told him he was doing the Most Important job by being a DADDY. He got quiet as if he was deep in thought about what
I had just told him. He loved the ROTC program and went into Basic Training as an E-3. He always smiled and was a friend to
a lot of people over the years, old and young. He always had a hug for his family and grandmas. My niece would come in and
lay her head on Kris' shoulder lots of times when she had Chemo and was so sick and weak. He would patiently sit still so he
would not wake her. He even put his arms around her and held her when her world was falling apart. We thought we were
going to lose her but she is married and has 3 healthy children. Her world is shattered, as well as the rest of the family. My
son, Britt, said he could always call Kris even late at night and Kris never got upset with him for calling him late. He always
was there for Britt. He went to Kaleb's History class and talked to them. He also went to Blake's 5th grade class and talked to
them before leaving for Iraq this time. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful memories of Kristopher. I can't wait to
see his smile again.  (Mom) Ronda Higdon
