Sgt. Alex Funcheon 3-2-86 KIA 4-29-07
Alex is our only son, first born child [We have a 19 year old daughter] He was with the Army, a Calvary Scout. He loved his job. He grew up playing video games all the
time, so being a gunner was like being in a video game. As a small child and teenager he lost every winter coat we ever gave him. We found out not to long ago that he
was the soldier who used the night vision equipment, responsible also for the stuff that went into the Humvee and he taught the soldiers how to use the expensive
military guns etc. In other words, he matured we never got to see that. Before he went over to Baghdad his 3rd grade teacher who now teaches 5th grade had her class
adopt him and his unit. They sent goodie boxes to him. His death brought the reality of war to their young age. I attached a picture of them. When Alex would come
home he was going to get out of the army, he wanted to be a fireman.
He wanted to get married and have children. Alex never met a stranger he loved to make people laugh. He never met a party that he wasn't in the middle. We miss
him so much..............Karen

SGT WillSun (Will) Mock
December 19, 1982- KIA Oct 22, 2006
My Valiant Solider, my peacemaker, my baby boy...He answered the call of duty
after that horrible day in September 2001. Will had a love for kids and came to
be known as "Father" to some of the orphaned children of war. He believed in
helping the people, and re-upped to make sure the job got done. Will loved his
brothers-in-arms and held their friendship and trust in the highest regards. He
lived by his motto: STRENGTH & HONOR
We lost him to an IED that detonated near his vehicle the morning of Oct 22,
2006. Will was serving on his second tour in Iraq. He was only 23. We will not
forget you. "Rest brave soldier, your work is done." By his mom, Ann
